Lu and Danny were first introduced years ago by none other than Danny’s cousin, Jovie. At the time, Lu and Jovie were planning to attend an event on Miami Beach, so Jovie decided to invite Danny along—he happened to live in the area, after all.

But the real spark didn’t fly until 2021, after a memorable (and slightly unexpected) weekend at the Bachata Convention in Miami. What they originally thought would be a music festival turned out to be a full-blown professional bachata dance extravaganza. Though caught off guard, the experience brought them closer—and left them with a story they’d never forget.

Not long after, Lu and Danny went on their first official date. They met at Bayside in Downtown Miami for a night of adventure and dinner. They began by riding the Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel, taking in the city lights from above. Afterwards, they grabbed lobster rolls from a nearby restaurant. Anticipating some first-date nerves, Lu came prepared—with a Polaroid camera and a fun game to help break the ice. One prompt asked Danny to take a photo with someone he’d want to take on vacation. Naturally, Lu assumed she’d be the obvious choice—but Danny surprised her by snapping a photo with a Pomeranian that looked like a tiny panda.

The night ended with an impromptu scooter ride down Biscayne Avenue, which quickly turned into a playful race. Lu won, of course.

The next day, both of them confided in Jovie, convinced the date had gone terribly because they had been so nervous. But fate had other plans.

A couple of weeks later, Lu invited Danny to spend a day at the beach. And that was the day everything changed. The nerves faded, laughter flowed easily, and the connection between them deepened. From that moment on, they saw each other often, creating memories and building something real—until eventually, they decided to take the next step.
